NEW BEER IN LIMBURG! Jazz '70 Paranoid Blond Brut

JAZZ ‘70 – PARANOID BLOND BRUT (alc. 6,9% vol). SMAAK/AROMA: De PARANOID BLOND BRUT zal je verwelkomen met een donkerblonde kleur en een mooie schuimkraag. Bij het schenken zal je onmiddellijk kunnen genieten van fruitige- en kruidige aroma’s. Een medium bitterheid is aanwezig bij de eerste slokjes in combinatie met kruidige toetsen, een mooie fruitigheid (witte rozijnen) en een vineuze achtergrond. De afdronk is droog, bitter en eindigt met een licht-vineuze toets. Een verfrissend bier voor de zomerdagen, ook lekker als aperitief bier. Zowel een Saison-gist als een Champagnegist werden gebruikt bij de gisting. De Champagne gist werd opnieuw gebruikt bij de hergisting. Best geserveerd 6°C.

WIST-JE-DAT?: De lancering van het "Jazz Bilzen ‘70!" bier zal plaatsvinden op Vrijdag 4 juli (Marktplein Bilzen) vanaf 18:00. Deze nieuwe Jazz ’70 “PARANOID” is een creatie van Quae Voluptas met Yannick Schoubben als designer. Elk jaar brengt de organisatie een bier op de markt dat verwijst naar een artiest die ooit op het legendarische muziekfestival Jazz Bilzen heeft opgetreden. De bedoeling is om uiteindelijk 17 bieren te bottelen voor de 17 edities (tussen 1965 – 1981) van Jazz Bilzen.

WIST-JE-OOK-DAT?: Dit jaar reizen we terug in de tijd naar 1970. Een jaar van verandering in de muziekwereld: de flower power-beweging maakt stilaan plaats voor zwaardere rockgeluiden. Black Sabbath (Birmingham) brengen hun twee eerste albums uit en breken door. Ze zetten de toon voor een nieuw tijdperk en stonden op het podium van Jazz Bilzen. Ook op de line-up van Jazz Bilzen merken we deze evolutie, waar de iconische rock van The Kinks werd aangevuld met Cat Stevens Badfinger, Dizzie Gillespie, Arthur Conley en – jawel – Black Sabbath.

JAZZ ‘70 – PARANOID BLOND BRUT (alc. 6,9% vol). TASTE/AROMA: The PARANOID BLOND BRUT will welcome you with a dark blond colour and a beautiful head. When pouring, you will immediately enjoy fruity and herbal aromas. A medium bitterness is present at the first sips in combination with herbal notes, a beautiful fruitiness (white raisins) and a vinous background. The aftertaste is dry, bitter and ends with a slightly vinous touch. A super refreshing beer for the summer days, also delicious as an aperitif beer. Both a Saison yeast and a Champagne yeast were used in the fermentation. The Champagne yeast was used again during the refermentation. Best served 6°C.

DID-YOU-KNOW?: The launch of the "Jazz Bilzen ‘70!" beer will take place on Friday 4 July (Marktplein Bilzen) from 18:00. This new Jazz ‘70 “PARANOID” is a creation of Quae Voluptas with Yannick Schoubben as the designer. Every year, the organisers bring a beer onto the market that refers to an artist who once performed at the legendary music festival Jazz Bilzen. The intention is to eventually bottle 17 beers for each of the 17 editions (between 1965-1981) of Jazz Bilzen.

DID-YOU-ALSO-KNOW?: This year we travel back in time to 1970. A year of change in the music world: the flower power movement is gradually making way for heavier rock sounds. Black Sabbath (Birmingham) release their first two albums and break through. They set the tone for a new era and performed at Jazz Bilzen. We also notice this evolution in the line-up of Jazz Bilzen, where the iconic rock of The Kinks was supplemented with Cat Stevens, Badfinger, Dizzie Gillespie, Arthur Conley and – yes – Black Sabbath.
